• Description:

  This genuine Ford air cleaner upper cover is the top housing of the engine air box, sealing over the air filter element and directing clean, filtered air into the intake tract. It fits 2020-2025 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and Police Interceptor Utility with the 3.0L EcoBoost twin-turbo V6, and Ford notes it is included with the complete air cleaner assembly while also being available separately. A vehicle needs this cover when the original has a cracked or warped lid, broken or fatigued latch clips, a distorted sealing lip, or damaged mounting tabs that let it sit loose. Symptoms include a whistle or hiss from the air box under acceleration, a filter that will not seat or seal, unfiltered or unmetered air entering upstream of the mass air flow sensor, and lean running or trim codes caused by air bypassing the filter through a poor cover seal. Fitting the genuine cover restores an airtight air box so the filter seals correctly and the intake meters air as designed. Confirm the filter is seated squarely and all clips latch fully before closing the cover so the sealing lip compresses evenly.
