This Genuine Ford Adaptive Cruise Distance Sensor with Control Module fits the front of the 20-25 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, Lincoln Corsair, Ford Escape, and Ford E-350 Super Duty. The sensor is the forward-looking radar module that powers adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and pre-collision braking on vehicles equipped with the corresponding driver-assist features. The sensor includes its integrated control module, so it is not paired with a separate ACC computer. Replacement is common after front-end collision repair, where the radar has either been physically damaged or knocked out of alignment, and when the module fails internally and the cluster shows an ACC-not-available message. After installation, the radar must be aimed with the Ford alignment procedure and an aim target, then calibrated through the diagnostic scan tool. Driving the vehicle without completing the aim and calibration will leave the ACC and forward-collision features inoperative and may store DTCs against several driver-assist modules. Confirm the bracket and the front fascia structure are correct after collision repair before mounting the sensor, since the sensor inherits any geometry error in the structure behind it.
