This is a genuine Ford OEM electric parking brake switch for the 20-25 Ford Explorer, Escape, and Bronco Sport in configurations without Interceptor equipment. The switch is the dash-mounted toggle that requests apply and release of the electric parking brake actuators on the rear calipers, communicating the request over the vehicle CAN bus to the parking brake module. As an OEM Ford switch the contact geometry, illumination, and harness connector pinout match the Ford EPB architecture, ensuring reliable apply and release commands and proper indicator feedback on the dash. The without-Interceptor variant differs from the PIU configuration because Interceptor builds add a separate police-specific parking brake interlock. non-OEM switches in this position often present as inoperative or intermittent. Install with the dash trim removed for connector access, transfer the harness carefully, and verify both apply and release function plus the dash indicator behavior after installation.
