This is a genuine Ford OEM front lower bumper mounting bracket for the 20-25 Ford Explorer, the mating partner to LB5Z-17C947-A. The bracket supports the lower outboard corner of the front bumper cover on the opposite side, providing the rigid anchor point that maintains bumper cover position relative to the fender and the lower air dam structure. As an OEM Ford bracket the steel gauge, mounting hole locations, and standoff depth are matched to the Explorer lower fascia geometry. Both LB5Z-17C947-A and LB5Z-17C947-B are commonly replaced together after a low-speed front impact has bent the lower mounting structure, as bent brackets can leave the bumper cover hanging proud against the fender and create wind noise at speed. Install with the bumper cover loosened, position the bracket against the body structure, install the fasteners hand-tight, then seat the bumper cover and final-torque the bracket fasteners. Inspect bumper cover gap to the fender after installation.
