This is a genuine Ford OEM headrest guide sleeve for the 20-25 Ford Explorer. The guide is the plastic sleeve mounted in the top of the seat back that the headrest stems pass through, providing the friction retention and adjustment detents for the headrest height position. As an OEM Ford part the sleeve internal dimensions, detent geometry, and mounting flange are matched to the Explorer headrest stem profile and to the seat back structure. Worn or broken headrest guides present as headrests that drop under load, that adjust unevenly between detents, or that are difficult to remove for seat cover service. Replace whenever the guide shows wear or damage. Install with the seat back top trim released, locate the guide into its mounting pocket, seat firmly until the retention tabs engage, then reinstall the headrest by aligning the stems and pressing through the detent stages. Confirm adjustment and retention function before reinstalling related trim.
