  This Genuine Ford Liftgate Hatch Seal Weatherstrip fits the 20-25 Ford Explorer on the U625 platform. The seal mounts around the liftgate opening and forms the primary barrier between the cargo area and the outside environment, blocking wind noise, water intrusion, and dust as the hatch closes against the body. Molded from EPDM-grade rubber to the exact contour of the Explorer's liftgate aperture, the weatherstrip presents the correct cross-section so the gate latches under normal effort and seats evenly across the full perimeter. Replacing this seal is a common service when the hatch begins to leak after a wash, when wind noise develops at highway speed, or when the original gasket has become compressed and no longer rebounds after the gate is opened. The seal incorporates molded corners and a continuous bead; non-OEM extruded substitutes often leak at the corners where the geometry must change direction. The seal is supplied as a complete loop; do not attempt to splice from sectional stock.
