• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford left front CV axle shaft assembly, also called the front halfshaft, complete with the inner and outer constant velocity joints, the boots, the boot clamps, and the spline ends needed to install at the wheel hub and transfer case output. The assembly supersedes L1MZ-3A427-B and Motorcraft TX-1077 in the same family and is the current service replacement for the left-front position on 20-25 Explorer and Police Interceptor Utility builds with all-wheel drive that do not carry the corrosion protection option, on vehicles built to 08/30/2021. Owners reach for this part when grease appears slung across the suspension or inner fender, when a sharp clicking sound under turning indicates an outer CV joint failure, when boot tearing is found on inspection, or when the axle is being replaced to address the well-documented split-boot complaint on early production U625 platforms. The new design adds a fold to the outer boot to improve durability. The replacement axle nut is a single-use torque-to-yield fastener that must be installed fresh and torqued in stages per the Ford service specification, since reusing the original nut will not preserve the proper hub bearing preload and will lead to looseness or premature wheel bearing failure. Confirm fitment via VIN at order time because corrosion protection trims and post-08/30/2021 builds require a different superseding service axle suffix that is not interchangeable. Inspect the wheel hub splines and clean any contamination before installation.
