  This is the genuine Ford roof molding clip, the trim retainer that secures the upper roof side molding to the body on the sixth-generation Ford Explorer from 2020 through 2025. Ford lists it as the Roof Molding Clip Trim Retainer for the right, passenger side; the left side uses the companion suffix. The clip snaps into the roof ditch channel and grips the underside of the long roof molding so the molding sits flush, stays sealed against wind and water intrusion, and does not lift or rattle at highway speed. These small retainers are the usual failure point when a roof molding starts to peel up, flap, or pull loose at one end, and they are almost always broken or distorted when a molding is removed for glass, roof-rail, or bodywork service, so fitting new clips rather than reusing the old ones is strongly recommended.
