• Description:

  This is a brand new genuine Ford OEM exhaust manifold stud carrying part number LC3Z-9K492-A, fitting 20-25 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks and 21-25 E-350 Super Duty cutaway vans equipped with the 7.3L Godzilla gas V8 or 6.8L Godzilla gas V8 in both left and right manifold positions. The stud is the threaded fastener that retains the cast iron exhaust manifold to the cylinder head and is subject to extreme thermal cycling between cold start and full-load operation. Studs are one-time-use service items when removal involves significant heat-stretch or thread damage; once a stud has been through hundreds of thermal cycles the threads may seize in the head or stretch beyond the elastic limit. Always assess each stud's condition during manifold service; replace any stud that resists removal or shows visible necking, thread damage, or corrosion. Anti-seize compound on the threaded portion is acceptable per the workshop manual when reinstalling but never on the nut clamping face. Use the proper torque sequence on the manifold-to-head joint to prevent warping the cast iron manifold. Sold individually; consult the workshop manual for the typical amount needed per side.
