This is a genuine Ford OEM front strut assembly for the passenger side of the 20-25 Ford Police Interceptor Utility with the 3.0L EcoBoost or 3.3L gas engine, and for matching Explorer AWD with Interceptor configurations. The strut is a complete pre-loaded assembly including the strut tube, internal valving, coil spring, upper mount, and upper bearing. As an OEM Ford strut the damping curves, spring rate, and ride height are calibrated to PIU duty cycle including sustained pursuit speeds, hard cornering, and curb impacts. The PIU spring rate is firmer than civilian Explorer trims to support the additional weight of police equipment, and the damping is tuned to maintain stability under pursuit conditions. Confirm Interceptor configuration before ordering as civilian AWD Explorers use different strut part numbers. Always replace front struts as a pair to maintain symmetric handling. Install per Ford workshop manual and align the vehicle after installation.
