This Genuine Ford transmission fluid cooler O-ring fits 20-25 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 10R140 ten-speed automatic transmission. The O-ring seals the transmission fluid cooler line connection against external leakage at the cooler or the transmission case fitting, depending on placement. Even small leaks at this connection can lose enough fluid to drop line pressure under load and trigger harsh shifts or diagnostic codes, and external fluid on a hot exhaust component is a fire concern. O-rings of this type are one-time-use service parts and must be replaced any time the connection is opened. non-OEM O-rings often use the wrong material or shore hardness, leading to early failure under heat and pressure cycling. This Genuine Ford O-ring is sized to factory specification with the correct material grade. Install with a light film of clean specified transmission fluid on the seal lip, seat the fitting fully without twisting the O-ring, torque the line nut to the published specification, and check for leaks under load after the fluid level is verified at the proper temperature.
