• Description:

  This Genuine Ford oil filter adapter gasket fits 20-25 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 7.3L Godzilla gas V8 and seals the oil filter adapter to the cylinder block, routing engine oil into and out of the oil filter assembly without leakage between the dirty inlet and clean outlet sides. A failed adapter gasket can cause an oil leak at the filter base, oil mist on the lower front of the engine, or in some failure modes a bypass of unfiltered oil into the main oil gallery. The gasket is a one-time-use sealing element; whenever the oil filter adapter is removed for service, including replacement of the adapter, oil cooler, or related plumbing, the gasket should be replaced before reassembly. non-OEM gaskets often use inferior elastomers or incorrect bolt-hole spacing, leading to slow weeping. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly before installation, install dry unless the workshop manual specifies otherwise, then torque the adapter bolts in the correct cross pattern to the published specification. Replace the oil filter and engine oil during the same service interval.
