  This Genuine Ford accessory drive belt tensioner assembly fits 20-25 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty and E-350 and E-450 Super Duty trucks with the 7.3L Godzilla gas V8, installed at the rear position for the air conditioning compressor belt. The tensioner maintains correct belt tension on the A/C compressor belt across the full temperature and load range, with a spring-loaded arm and a sealed bearing in the pulley that allow free rotation without noise. A failed tensioner causes belt squeal on start-up or under load, belt walk on the pulley flanges, premature belt edge wear, or in late failure a seized pulley that can throw the belt or break the arm. non-OEM tensioners are commonly mis-spec on spring rate or pulley bearing seal quality, leading to short service life. This OEM tensioner ships preassembled with the correct pulley, bearing, and spring rate. Confirm pulley alignment to the compressor and crank pulley with a straightedge, torque the mounting bolt to the published specification, and inspect the belt for cracking, glazing, or pilling during the install.
