• Description:

  This Genuine Ford right-hand cylinder head gasket fits 20-25 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 Super Duty and E-350 Super Duty trucks with the 7.3L Godzilla or 6.8L gas V8. It supersedes the earlier LC3Z-6051-A. The cylinder head gasket seals the cylinder head to the block, containing combustion pressure at each cylinder bore, sealing coolant passages between the head and block, and routing engine oil from the lifter valley to the cylinder head for valve train lubrication. A failed head gasket causes coolant in the oil, oil in the coolant, white smoke at the exhaust, low compression at one or more cylinders, or coolant loss with no external leak. The gasket is a one-time-use sealing element; when the cylinder head is removed for any reason, the gasket must be replaced. The cylinder head bolts are torque-to-yield single-use fasteners and must also be replaced. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly without scratching, verify deck flatness with a straightedge and feeler gauges, then install the new gasket dry and torque the head bolts in the correct cross-pattern sequence and angle stages.
