• Description:

  This Genuine Ford engine oil cooler fits 20-25 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 Super Duty and E-350 and E-450 Super Duty trucks with the 7.3L Godzilla or 6.8L gas V8. The oil cooler is an oil-to-coolant heat exchanger that controls engine oil temperature during heavy load and high ambient conditions by transferring heat from the engine oil into the engine coolant circuit, helping to keep oil viscosity within the safe operating range, prevent oxidation, and extend oil service life. A failed oil cooler can leak engine coolant into the oil or oil into the coolant, causing milky oil on the dipstick, low coolant level with no visible external leak, or in severe cases bearing damage from coolant-contaminated oil. non-OEM coolers often use inferior brazing or thinner tube walls that fail under repeated thermal cycling. Replace the oil cooler gaskets and O-rings as required by the workshop manual every time the cooler is removed, flush the cooler passages thoroughly during any cross-contamination repair, and verify oil and coolant levels and quality after the install.
