• Description:

  This Genuine Ford engine valve pushrod fits 20-25 F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 Super Duty and E-350 and E-450 Super Duty trucks with the 7.3L Godzilla or 6.8L gas V8. It supersedes the earlier LC3Z-6565-A. The pushrod transmits the motion of the camshaft via the lifter or tappet up to the rocker arm, which in turn opens the valve once per engine cycle. The pushrod must be straight to within tight tolerance, with correct length and ball-end geometry, in order to maintain proper rocker arm sweep and valve train lash takeup at all engine temperatures. A bent or worn pushrod causes a sharp valve train tick, a dead cylinder, or rocker arm side loading that wears the rocker stud and valve guide. non-OEM pushrods commonly use inferior heat treatment or incorrect length tolerances. Inspect each pushrod for straightness with a precision flat surface and visual roll, verify length against the workshop manual specification, install with the correct ball end down at the lifter, prime the oil galleries before final cranking, and re-check rocker geometry before reinstalling the valve cover.
