This Genuine Ford Motorcraft single lead spark plug wire routes high-voltage current from an ignition coil to an individual spark plug on the gasoline Super Duty engines, fitted to 2020 and newer F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks with the 6.2L V8, the 7.3L Godzilla V8, and the 6.8L V10-based applications. Each cylinder is served by its own coil-to-plug lead rather than a full harness, and this Motorcraft wire is the service lead Ford catalogs as WR-6170. It maintains a low-resistance, well-insulated spark path and suppresses electrical interference so coil energy reaches the plug cleanly, with rugged heat- and oil-resistant insulation built for the high-load duty cycle of a work truck. When a lead degrades, the boot cracks, the conductor corrodes, or resistance climbs, and the affected cylinder misfires, producing a rough idle, a flashing or steady check engine light with a cylinder-specific misfire code, hesitation under load, and reduced power, towing performance, and fuel economy. Because the fault is isolated to one lead, renewing the degraded wire restores that cylinder without disturbing the rest of the ignition system. Seat each boot fully onto the spark plug and the coil tower until it clicks, apply a light film of dielectric grease, and route the lead clear of hot exhaust components. Installing the correct Motorcraft single lead returns smooth combustion and full pulling power to the Super Duty engine.
