• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford OEM rear shock absorber assembly for the 20-26 Ford Explorer ST with the 3.0L EcoBoost engine. The shock is a damper assembly engineered for the ST-specific rear suspension tuning, with damping curves calibrated to the firmer ST spring rate and sport-oriented chassis tuning, and the lower bushing is included with the shock. As an OEM Ford shock the rod diameter, valving, and bushing geometry are matched to the ST chassis. The ST 3.0L variant differs from non-ST Explorer rear shocks because the ST spring rate and ride height require different damping to maintain the sport-tuned ride and handling balance. Confirm ST trim and 3.0L engine before ordering. Always replace rear shocks as a pair to maintain symmetric handling. Install with the rear suspension supported, then lower the vehicle to ride height before final torque of the lower bushing bolt to avoid pre-loading the bushing in twist or compression.
