• Description:

  Genuine Ford Ambient Temperature Sensor M2DZ-12A647-A is the OEM outside air temperature sensor for a wide range of 21-25 Ford applications including Ford Bronco, F-250 Super Duty, F-350 Super Duty, F-450 Super Duty, F-550 Super Duty, and Ford Ranger pickups. The sensor mounts in the front bumper or grille area where it can sense the ambient air temperature without being heated by the engine compartment, providing temperature data to the body control module for display on the cluster gauge, climate control system calculations, and for adjusting fuel and ignition control map values that vary with ambient temperature. The data is also used by the AdvanceTrac stability control system to predict reduced traction conditions in low ambient temperatures where ice may form. Symptoms calling for replacement include the cluster ambient temperature display reading inaccurately, sensor reading stuck at one value regardless of conditions, climate control system not responding correctly to outside conditions, and DTCs in the body control module indicating temperature sensor circuit faults such as P0073 or B1A30. Installation requires removing the front fascia per Ford Workshop Manual. Verify VIN fitment.
