  This is the genuine Ford charge air cooler, or intercooler, for the 21-25 Bronco and Ranger with the 2.3L and 2.7L turbocharged engines. The intercooler cools the compressed air leaving the turbocharger before it enters the engine, increasing air density for more power and reducing the risk of pre-ignition under boost. Owners replace this cooler after stone impact punctures, internal leaks, bent or blocked fins from debris, or oil fouling that reduces cooling efficiency. A failing intercooler can cause a loss of boost, reduced power, elevated intake temperatures, or a boost-leak code.
