• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford sealing O-ring for the evaporative emissions system, used at the vapor canister purge valve where it seals the connection between the purge valve and its mounting so fuel vapor is contained and no unmetered air leaks into the system. Though small, this precision seal is critical to a leak-free EVAP system, which captures fuel tank vapors and routes them to the engine to be burned rather than escaping to the atmosphere. It fits 2021 through 2025 Ford Bronco Sport and related 1.5L three-cylinder EcoBoost applications such as the Escape that share this purge valve. A hardened, cracked, or missing O-ring commonly causes an EVAP leak that sets a check engine light with a small or gross leak code, may cause a faint fuel odor, and can fail an emissions test. Because it is a rubber sealing ring, it should be replaced any time the purge valve is removed rather than reused, since a compressed or aged O-ring will not reseal reliably. During installation, make sure the sealing surfaces and groove are clean, lightly seat the new O-ring without twisting or pinching it, and reconnect the purge valve until it locks. Clear any stored EVAP codes and verify the system holds vacuum after the repair.
