This genuine Ford fuel pump seal is the gasket that seals the in-tank fuel pump and sender module to the fuel tank on 2021-2025 Ford F-150 trucks with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6, carrying the Ford base part 9417 and interchange reference CG815. The seal sits between the pump module flange and the tank opening, and the lock ring compresses it to create a fuel and vapor-tight joint that keeps liquid fuel and evaporative emissions inside the tank. A hardened, torn or previously reused seal is a common source of a persistent fuel smell, a damp area or staining above the tank, EVAP leak codes and a check engine light. Whenever the fuel pump module is removed for service, this seal should be renewed rather than reused, because the original ring takes a compression set and will not reseal reliably. Lay the new seal into the tank flange, lubricate it lightly if specified and draw the lock ring down evenly so the module seats flat without pinching the gasket. Installing the genuine Ford seal restores a proper leak-free joint and correct evaporative system integrity.
