• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6775-L is the front floor pan heat shield for 21-25 F-150 trucks equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost or 5.2L Predator V8 engines. The pressed-steel shield mounts above the exhaust system front section between the engine and the catalytic converter, protecting the cab floor pan and the cabin carpet insulation above it from the direct radiant heat thrown by the high-temperature catalyst and the exhaust pipe. The stamped form-fit construction matches the F-150 floor pan contour exactly so the shield clears the exhaust system at all operating temperatures without contact while keeping the cabin floor temperature within the factory comfort range. Owners replace this shield when a clatter rattle traces back to a corroded or torn shield contacting the exhaust pipe, when the original shield has corroded through and lost stiffness, when an underbody inspection finds the shield bent from a road debris strike or speed bump contact, or when a major exhaust service has required the shield to be removed and the original is too distorted to reinstall. Installation uses the existing factory clip-on or bolted attachment hardware on the floor pan.
