• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6730-B is the engine oil pan drain plug for 21-25 F-150 trucks equipped with the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. The plug threads into the bottom of the oil pan and seals the drain port against engine oil, allowing the oil to be drained at each scheduled oil change service and resealing reliably across thousands of removal-and-reinstallation cycles. The hex head accepts a standard wrench and the integrated sealing washer or molded gasket compresses against the pan boss as the plug is torqued down. Owners replace this plug when the threads have stripped from cross-threading during a previous oil change, when the hex head has rounded off after over-torquing, when the sealing washer has hardened and started to weep oil at the plug face, when an non-OEM magnetic plug install has stripped the soft pan threads, or when a quick-lube shop has installed a replacement plug that does not match the Ford torque or seal profile. Installation requires the plug to be hand-started in the pan threads to avoid cross-threading, torqued to Ford specification, and inspected after the next drive cycle for any seepage at the plug head.
