• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-4625-A is the rear inner pinion bearing with race for 21-25 F-150 trucks equipped with the 9.75-inch ring gear in various ratios including 3.31, 3.55, and 3.73, without the Limited Slip or electronic locking differential options. The bearing supports the rear of the pinion shaft inside the differential housing, taking the combined radial and thrust loads as the driveshaft drives the pinion against the ring gear under load. The matched cone and cup ship as a paired set since the cone runs only on its mated cup, and Ford specifies both must be replaced together if either shows wear. Owners replace this bearing during a complete differential rebuild, after the differential develops a deceleration whine or pinion-end roughness, when contaminated gear oil indicates bearing pitting, when shifting the gear ratio requires a complete pinion reset, or when a pinion seal replacement reveals worn rollers. Installation requires the differential to be opened, the pinion removed, the old race driven out, the new race pressed in flush, the new cone pressed onto the pinion shaft, and the pinion preload re-set with a new crush sleeve before backlash is set to factory specification.
