• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-8475-D is the engine coolant thermostat or thermostat housing for 21-25 F-150 applications. The thermostat regulates coolant flow between the engine block and the radiator, opening as coolant temperature rises through the calibrated opening range so cooled coolant from the radiator returns to the engine and closed-loop temperature control is maintained within the factory operating window. The integrated housing includes the temperature sensor port and the upper-radiator-hose connection that the cooling system depends on for proper thermal management. Owners replace this thermostat when an overheating condition traces to a stuck-closed thermostat that prevents coolant from circulating to the radiator, when a slow-warmup condition traces to a stuck-open thermostat that lets coolant flow before the engine reaches operating temperature, when a coolant leak appears at the thermostat housing seal, when a temperature-sensor DTC traces to the integrated sensor port, or when a major engine repair includes the thermostat as a preventive replacement.
