  This Genuine Ford vapor canister is the charcoal-filled EVAP storage canister for the evaporative emissions system on the 2021-2025 Ford F-150 with gasoline engines. It captures and stores fuel vapor rising from the fuel tank, holding it on activated charcoal until the engine's purge valve draws the stored vapor into the intake to be burned during normal driving, which keeps raw hydrocarbons out of the atmosphere and maintains proper tank venting. A saturated, cracked, or internally broken-down canister is a common cause of evaporative leak trouble codes such as P0442, P0455, and P0456, a persistent check-engine light, a fuel odor near the rear of the truck, and occasional difficulty at the fuel pump caused by poor tank venting.
