• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford transfer case output shaft seal, cataloged as an Output Shaft Seal for the four-wheel-drive 2021 through 2025 F-150 and Expedition. The seal rides on the transfer case output shaft where the driveshaft connects, keeping transfer case lubricant sealed inside while blocking dirt, water, and road contamination from entering. As the lip hardens and wears it begins to weep, and a failing output shaft seal typically shows as fluid seepage or dripping at the rear or front of the transfer case, a wet or oily driveshaft yoke, a low transfer case fluid level, and over time whining or damage if the case runs low on lubricant. Ford builds this seal to the correct diameter, lip design, and material specification so it seats squarely in the bore and rides true on the shaft. This is a single-use seal: once it has been driven on it should never be reused or reinstalled, and the original must be replaced with a new seal any time the driveshaft or transfer case is separated. Clean the bore, inspect the sealing surface on the shaft or yoke for grooves, install the new seal to the correct depth with a proper driver, lubricate the lip before assembly, and refill the transfer case to the specified level with the correct Ford fluid. Fitting the correct factory output shaft seal stops the leak and protects the transfer case from running low. This OEM seal is made to the original Ford specification for a leak-free fit.
