• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6C525-A is the engine timing camshaft sprocket, also catalog-named cam phaser or VCT actuator, for 21-25 F-150, Expedition, and Navigator applications equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbocharged GTDI V6 engine. It supersedes HL3Z-6C525-CD on updated service builds. The sprocket bolts to the front of the camshaft, runs on the timing chain, and includes the Ti-VCT hydraulic phaser mechanism that the engine ECM uses to advance or retard the camshaft timing in real time based on RPM and load. The included gear delivers the precise lift and duration calibration required for the 3.5L EB to meet its rated torque and horsepower across the full operating range. Owners replace this sprocket when a cam-phaser rattle on cold start traces to a worn or stuck phaser body, when a P0011 or P0014 VCT-position DTC indicates a phaser failure, when a timing chain replacement service requires the original phaser to be replaced as part of the kit, or when oil-pressure-related phaser performance degrades. Installation requires the timing chain to be removed and properly indexed at TDC, the new sprocket bolted to the cam with a fresh torque-to-yield bolt, and the oil control circuit verified at the OCV.
