This is the genuine Ford right hand engine coolant water return tube, listed in Ford dealer catalogs as Turbocharger Coolant Line Adapter and also carried under the names Coolant Line, Water Return Tube, Water Outlet, Outlet Tube and Tube Water Outlet. On the 3.5L EcoBoost twin turbocharged V6 the turbochargers are liquid cooled, and this rigid formed metal tube carries hot coolant away from the right bank turbocharger and cylinder head back into the cooling circuit, so the bearing housing keeps circulating coolant after shutdown and does not coke its oil supply. Verified fitment covers the 2022 through 2025 Expedition and Navigator, where Ford calls the piece the right side water outlet, and the 2021 through 2023 F-150 with the 3.5L engine, where it serves as the right side water return tube. Because it sits directly above the exhaust side of the engine, the tube and its seals live in a punishing heat cycle. Owners typically go looking for one after finding a slow coolant weep or crusty orange residue at the joint, after topping off the degas tank repeatedly with no visible puddle under the vehicle, after smelling hot coolant through the vents at idle, or after a coolant level warning appears in the cluster.
