  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6250-A is the left-hand exhaust camshaft, also catalog-named engine camshaft, for 21-25 F-150 plus 20-25 Expedition and Navigator applications equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost twin-turbocharged engine. The camshaft drives the LH cylinder bank exhaust valves through the timing chain and rocker arms, opening and closing the exhaust valves in precise relation to the crankshaft position so the combustion gases vent through the exhaust manifold and turbochargers at the correct moment in each cycle. The shaft is hardened and ground to the factory lift, duration, and timing profile required for the 3.5L EB to produce its rated torque and horsepower. Technicians install this camshaft during a major engine repair where a cam-lobe failure has been diagnosed from a misfire on multiple bank cylinders, after a timing chain failure has bent valves and contacted the cam lobes, after a hydraulic lifter failure has chewed up a cam lobe surface, or during a complete head rebuild. Installation requires the timing chain to be removed and properly indexed at the crankshaft TDC mark, the new camshaft positioned with the correct phasing relative to the intake cam, and new cam-bolt-and-actuator hardware torqued to spec.
