• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-4635-AA is the universal joint repair kit serving the rear driveshaft on 21-25 F-150 trucks with single-piece driveshaft or 2-piece heavy-duty trailer-tow driveshaft, plus Expedition and Navigator on the 131.6-inch wheelbase 4WD configuration and Mustang 5.0L variants with the 122.5-inch wheelbase driveshaft. The kit includes the cross trunnion, four needle-bearing caps with retainers, and the snap rings needed to rebuild a single driveshaft U-joint without replacing the entire driveshaft. Owners install this kit when a clunk on takeoff or coast-down indicates worn U-joint trunnion bearings, when vibration appears at highway speed from a binding joint, when grease leakage through the dust seal contaminates the trunnion, or during a preventive driveshaft service after high mileage. Installation requires the driveshaft to be removed from the vehicle, the original U-joint pressed out with a proper press or U-joint tool, the new joint pressed into place with the cup faces seated against the snap-ring grooves, and the trunnion freed up by tapping the cup faces. Reinstall the driveshaft with the original yoke phasing marks aligned and torque the flange bolts to Ford spec to avoid a flange-leak vibration.
