  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-5842528-B is the front hood emblem nameplate for 21-25 F-150 trucks. The emblem features the chrome F-150 lettering or matte-finish blackout treatment depending on the trim badge configuration and mounts to the front hood face with factory-spec adhesive backing along with the two locator pins that index the badge into the hood-stamping holes. It supersedes the earlier ML3Z-5842528-A on updated production builds. Owners replace this emblem when the chrome plating has pitted or flaked from age and ultraviolet exposure, when the badge has been pried loose during a hood polish and the original adhesive will not re-seat, when an off-road impact or low-speed collision has cracked or torn off the badge, when a trim upgrade or color change calls for a different finish, or when a previous owner removed the badge and the bare hood-stamp holes need to be covered. Installation requires the hood face to be clean and free of wax with isopropyl alcohol prep, the badge pins located into the hood holes, and even pressure applied for 30 to 60 seconds to fully wet out the adhesive backing. Allow 24 hours of cure before exposing the badge to a high-pressure wash.
