• Description:

  This genuine Ford piston ring set supplies the compression rings and the oil-control ring for one piston of the 5.0L Coyote V8 used in the 2021 through 2025 F-150 and Mustang. The rings seal combustion pressure above the piston, transfer heat from the piston crown into the cylinder wall, and meter the oil film on the bore so the engine holds compression and controls oil consumption. A buyer typically needs new rings during a rebuild or refresh, or when diagnosing high oil consumption, blue smoke from the tailpipe, fouled spark plugs, blow-by at the crankcase, or low and uneven cylinder compression. Because these rings service a single piston, a complete engine requires matching rings for each cylinder, and all bores should be measured and honed to the correct crosshatch and clearance before fitting. Install the rings with their gaps staggered around the piston and the marked side facing up, and verify end-gap in the bore against Ford specification for each ring. This ring set matches the factory groove dimensions and coating for the Coyote application and is the current Ford service part for this engine.
