  This is the genuine Ford adaptive cruise control distance speed sensor for 21-25 F-150, Ford Escape, Ford Mustang, and Lincoln Navigator, configured with the sensor support mount. This service part supersedes the earlier ML3Z-9E731-D reference. The sensor is the front radar module that detects vehicles ahead of the host vehicle, measures their range and closing rate, and reports the data to the powertrain control module and adaptive cruise control system. Failure modes include loss of adaptive cruise function with a fault message on the dash, intermittent inability to engage cruise control, false collision warnings, or stored DTCs in the ADAS module pointing to the front radar. The sensor mounts behind the front grille on the support bracket and is typically accessed by removing portions of the front fascia or radiator support shield. Care must be taken with the electrical connector during removal. After installation, the sensor must be aimed and calibrated using a Ford-approved scan tool and the documented Ford service procedure, since the radar field of view must be precisely aligned with the vehicle's longitudinal axis for proper ADAS function. Verify ADAS calibration before returning the vehicle to service.
