• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-8005-C is the upper outer battery cooling radiator for 21-25 F-150 trucks equipped with the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid powertrain. The aluminum core dedicated to the high-voltage battery cooling circuit transfers heat from the battery coolant loop to the airstream entering the front of the truck, keeping the hybrid battery pack within its optimal operating temperature window for charge and discharge efficiency and for long-term cell life. The radiator is one of two battery cooling stages in the PowerBoost cooling stack, working in series with the lower inner battery cooling radiator to deliver the cooling capacity required for the integrated hybrid drive system. Owners replace this radiator when a coolant leak appears at one of the end tanks, when a core puncture from road debris has caused a leak, when the hybrid system reports a battery overheat fault that traces to reduced cooling flow through this radiator, or when a major front-end collision has damaged the cooling stack. Installation requires the PowerBoost cooling system to be drained, the radiator hoses and fan shroud detached, the radiator lifted out of the cooling stack, and the new unit installed with fresh hybrid-spec coolant.
