This genuine Ford ML3Z-5705-A leaf spring axle U-bolt clamps the rear leaf spring pack to the axle on 2021-2025 Ford F-150 trucks, holding the spring, spring plate, and axle together as a single rigid assembly. Ford catalogs it as U-Bolt. This is a single-use, torque-to-yield fastener: it stretches when torqued to specification and must never be reused once it has been tightened. Any time the rear spring pack or axle is unbolted, install new U-bolts, because a reused U-bolt can fatigue and lose clamp load, allowing the axle to shift under the spring, which causes vibration, driveline angle changes, and eventual failure.
