  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-2K004-D is the right-hand front brake dust shield, also catalog-named splash shield, for 21-26 F-150 trucks in both 4WD and RWD configuration built from 07/31/2023. It supersedes the earlier ML3Z-2K004-B suffix on updated builds. The shield bolts to the steering knuckle behind the rotor and deflects road debris, water spray, and gravel away from the rotor face, the brake pads, and the wheel speed sensor wiring. The pressed-steel construction matches the OEM corrosion-protection plating so the shield resists rust-through across typical northern-climate service life. Owners replace this part when the original shield gets bent from off-road contact and rubs against the rotor causing a metallic clicking on every wheel rotation, when corrosion has perforated the shield enough to lose stiffness, when a wheel speed sensor mounting tab cracks off, or when the shield is removed during major brake service and the original is too distorted to reuse. Installation requires the rotor to be off and uses the existing fasteners on the knuckle.
