  This is the genuine Ford right-side mud deflector for the tubular accent running board package on 21-26 F-150. The deflector mounts behind the running board step and prevents road spray, mud, gravel, and snow from contacting the lower body and cab sides during normal driving and off-pavement use. This service part supersedes the earlier ML3Z-9911398-A reference. A worn or cracked deflector allows visible road grime and stone-chip damage along the lower body panels, contributes to accelerated paint wear, and can let larger debris reach the cab structure. Replacement is straightforward and requires removal of the running board mount fasteners, careful detachment of the original deflector clips and the body-side fastener interface, and reinstallation in reverse order. Inspect the body-side fastener points for corrosion before installing the new deflector. Use the Ford-specified fastener kit if any of the original hardware is missing or damaged.
