• Description:

  This Genuine Ford ML3Z-6775-K is the exhaust system center heat shield for 22-24 Lincoln Navigator applications equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. The pressed-steel shield mounts above the exhaust system midpipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler, protecting the floor pan structure and the carpet insulation above it from the direct radiant heat thrown off by the exhaust during normal driving and during heavy-load operation when the catalyst temperature climbs. The stamped form-fit construction matches the Navigator floor pan contour exactly so it does not contact the exhaust system at any operating temperature and creates no rattle at idle. Owners replace this shield when a clattering rattle from beneath the vehicle traces back to a corroded or torn shield contacting the exhaust pipe, when the original shield has corroded through and lost rigidity, when an underbody inspection finds the shield bent from a road debris strike or speed bump contact, or when a major exhaust service has required the shield to be removed and the original is too distorted to reinstall. Installation uses the existing factory clip-on or bolted attachment hardware on the floor pan structure.
