  This Genuine Ford distance sensor is the forward-facing radar module used by the adaptive cruise control and pre-collision assist systems on the 2022 through 2024 Ford Maverick. Mounted at the front of the vehicle behind the grille or lower fascia, it continuously measures the distance and closing speed to vehicles ahead and feeds that data to the driver-assistance controllers so the truck can maintain a set following gap, warn of an impending collision, and support automatic emergency braking when needed. A failing or damaged sensor commonly triggers messages such as adaptive cruise not available or pre-collision assist not available, disables automatic speed control, or produces false or dropped detections after front-end impact, debris strikes, or moisture intrusion.
