• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford engine compartment lower shield, also catalogued as an air deflector, for the Maverick. Mounted beneath the engine bay, this molded shield closes off the underside of the engine compartment to manage airflow, deflect road spray, water, slush, and debris away from engine and cooling components, and reduce aerodynamic drag and underbody wind noise. It bolts to the factory mounting points on the lower front structure and works with the surrounding splash shields to keep the engine bay clean and protected. Owners replace this shield when it has cracked, torn, sagged, or lost mounting tabs after curb strikes, road debris impacts, or dragging on driveways and parking blocks, or when it has been damaged or lost during prior service. A missing or broken lower shield can allow water and grit to reach belts, sensors, and electrical connectors, and can produce flapping or whistling noise at speed.
