• Description:

  This genuine Ford Motorcraft engine cooling fan clutch is the heavy-duty thermostatic drive for the mechanical cooling fan on 2023 to 2024 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups with the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 and single-rear-wheel configuration. Serving the main cooling system, the clutch couples the large engine fan to the drive hub and modulates fan speed with underhood and radiator-outlet temperature, locking up to move maximum air through the radiator, charge-air cooler and condenser under heavy load or towing, and releasing to cut noise and parasitic drag when the engine is cool. A worn or failed clutch typically causes diesel coolant temperatures to climb while towing or on grades, a constant loud fan roar that does not subside after warm-up, reduced air-conditioning performance at idle, or a fan that spins freely by hand on a hot engine. Because the 6.7L runs high cooling loads, a slipping clutch that cannot drive the fan hard enough risks overheating, derated power, and heat damage to cooling components, while a seized clutch wastes engine power. Replace the clutch as an assembly, torque the fan and hub hardware to specification, confirm correct rotation and fan-to-shroud clearance, and inspect the viscous drive, shroud and belt during service.
