  This genuine Ford thermostat housing O-ring fits Escape models built 23-25 with the 1.5L engine and seals the joint between the thermostat unit and its housing in the engine cooling system. The O-ring keeps coolant contained at the housing connection, preventing leaks where the thermostat assembly mates to the engine. Owners and technicians need this seal whenever the thermostat or its housing is serviced, since a disturbed or aged O-ring will weep coolant, cause overheating from low coolant level, or trigger a temperature-related fault. A hardened or cut O-ring is a common source of a slow coolant leak around the thermostat area. As the Ford catalog seal, it is molded to the exact diameter and cross-section the housing requires so it seats in its groove and seals reliably against coolant pressure and temperature.
