  This genuine Ford hood stop buffer cushions the hood against the body on the 24-25 Ranger, setting the rest position of the hood and preventing metal-to-metal contact when the hood is closed. As a small but important fit-and-finish component, it controls hood height alignment and dampens closing noise and vibration. A buffer that is missing, compressed, hardened or torn can let the hood sit low or high, rattle or vibrate at speed, or allow the hood to contact the body and chip paint.
