  This is the genuine Ford quarter panel splash shield for the 2024-2025 Ranger, cataloged in the rear left position and specified for trucks without the Raptor package. Ford lists it under base number 16A550 with the catalog names Quarter Panel Splash Shield and Rear Shield. The shield is the molded panel that mounts inside the rear wheel opening behind the tire, forming a barrier between the spinning tire and the quarter panel structure, bed side, wiring and body seams behind it. It stops thrown water, road salt, gravel and mud from being packed into the wheel house, which is exactly where corrosion starts on a pickup, and it also cuts down on the drumming and stone rattle that a bare wheel well transmits into the cab. Buyers typically need this piece after off road use has torn the shield loose from its fasteners, after a tire failure has shredded it, after a rear collision or bodywork, or when the plastic has cracked and begun to sag against the tire and rub. A missing or hanging splash shield is easy to spot by a rubbing or slapping noise from the rear wheel at speed, and by mud packing on the inside of the quarter panel. Installation uses push pin retainers and screws into the existing wheel house flange with no drilling. Note that Raptor models use a different shield because of the wider body, so confirm the truck is a non Raptor Ranger before ordering, and confirm the left hand rear position.
