• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford front wheel bearing grease seal, the OEM lip seal that rides on the spindle behind the wheel hub to retain wheel bearing grease and keep road water, brake dust, and grit out of the front hub cavity. It installs on two-wheel-drive front axles and fits a broad run of Ford light trucks and vans, including E-250 and E-350 vans, F-250 pickups, and the Excursion, covering roughly the 1984 through 2007 model years across the earlier light-duty and later Super Duty 2WD chassis. A hardened or torn grease seal is the usual cause of grease weeping onto the brake rotor or drum, a rhythmic front-end growl that changes with speed, and premature bearing wear from contamination, so replacing the seal any time the hub is serviced is standard practice. Because the sealing lip is deformed on removal, this is a one-time-use item and must be renewed whenever the bearing is repacked or the hub is pulled; do not reinstall a used seal. Seat it squarely to the correct depth with a proper seal driver and lightly pre-lube the lip on assembly for correct fitment and long service life.
