• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford rear leaf spring bushing, the rubber-and-sleeve insulator that presses into the eye of the rear leaf spring where it pivots on the frame hanger or shackle bolt. It isolates the spring from the mounting bracket, cushions suspension travel, and keeps the spring eye located so the rear axle stays properly positioned under load. It fits 1989 through 2004 Ford Ranger pickups at the rear leaf spring mounting points. A worn, cracked, or collapsed bushing lets the spring eye shift, which shows up as a clunk or knock over bumps from the rear, rear-end sway or wander, uneven ride height, and squeaking as the deteriorated rubber loses its cushion. Because the bushing carries suspension and braking loads, replacing worn insulators restores correct spring location and quiets the rear suspension. As the OEM insulator it matches the factory bore, sleeve diameter, and durometer so it presses into the original spring eye and hanger without modification. Inspect the shackle bolt and hanger for wear while the bushing is out, and press the new bushing in squarely so it seats fully for correct fitment and long life.
