Pressing it sends the lock or unlock command to the door lock control so all the power latches actuate together. It fits a broad range of 1992-2008 Ford and Mercury vehicles including E-150, E-250, and E-350 Econoline vans, F-150, F-250, and F-350 trucks, the Explorer, and the Bronco, which is why it is a widely shared service switch rather than a single-model part.
