  This genuine Ford rocker arm assembly is the intake valve rocker for the 7.3L Power Stroke diesel used in 1994.5 through 2003 F-250 F-350 F-Super Duty Excursion and E-Series vehicles. The rocker arm transfers motion from the pushrod to open the intake valve as the camshaft lobe lifts it and it pivots on the rocker shaft mounted to the cylinder head. Ford uses a separate casting for intake and exhaust so this intake rocker in the base 6564 suffix A should not be confused with the exhaust rocker which carries the B suffix. Each rocker is supplied individually so one is fitted at each intake valve. A worn cracked or seized rocker arm produces a persistent top end tapping or knocking noise erratic valve lash a loss of power on the affected cylinder and in severe cases a dropped or bent valve. Any scoring galling or excessive clearance where the rocker rides on the shaft calls for replacement. Ford lists this part as Arm Assembly Valve Rocker. On reassembly the rocker fasteners must be torqued to the Ford specification in the correct sequence. Installing correct rocker arms restores quiet valvetrain operation and full cylinder power.
